Could you just cut some out of the middle? A seam around the centre or even two thirds down would look too bad.

He was simply stating how gobsmacked he was with the prices. If beer is 7.50 then it's 7.50 where you are at that moment in time. I'm not attempting to exaggerate, neither is he, just reporting what's what as it is.
He's been going to Saalbach for the past god knows how many years and probably struggling to comprehend how the French can charge these kind of prices.
It was 5 euros a pint in serre che which we thought was excessive, now that looks quote reasonable!!

I think someone needs to go back and read my post again.
I did say the drink price was possible, my issue was 50 quid for a hot dog and chips which I simply don't believe.

As for the weather, you are right it will be what it is thats for sure. Everyone should be able to find skiing somewhere so thats a positive but i must admit its disappointing when we invest so much and conditions aren't what we deserve.
Its all fine for the locals or people that can put in a season but for those that only get the single week a year weather like this can be heartbreaking.

Well at least you won't having issues landing.

Jimbobilini wrote:As a matter of interest, what is a good price for a beer in France? I paid 8 euros for a large beer in a mountain restaurant in France last week. I thought it was a bit pricey but I still went back there the next day

I guess the the average is around 5-6 Euro. Happy hours can half that and clubs will charge more. I wouldn't pay more than six unless i was desperate or pissed.

£50 for hotdog, chips and a drink reported from Flaine by a mate of mine this week, aling with 7,50 for a small beer. France - pah.

Don't believe it. Sorry.
Your mate is either exaggerating or it was the total bill for a family enjoying said meal. No where have i ever paid more than 20 euro for a large burger, chips and salad.

The drink, well i find that plausible but would have to say he's a fool to pay it.
The highest price i paid in flaine, for a pint, was 6 euro.

Snapzzz - yeah right, sure!!!!

Not sure what you mean there.

Genuinely, im glad im not going there. Snow reports are 100cm/20cm and we all know how resorts exatgerate their conditions.
Weather reports put temps as high as 8-9 degrees this week, the freeze line being as much as 3000m, so i don't think there will be any new snow for while.

Probs be ok high up but maybe a bit limited.

A grim year
