Nelly,
I'm quite happy to do my list again this year, but I really need people to state the date, as well as the number of sleeps, because otherwise I am going to spend all my time staring at a calendar for 2012/2013 and counting on my fingers! I think it's more interesting if people say which resort they're going to as well, but it is totally optional - 'cos some people might be Royalty or undercover secret agents or something, and not allowed to disclose their whereabouts on a certain date  |

Andyhull
Le Signal looks really great, thanks :D But I couldn't find any prices. They had a blackboard of prices which flashed past on the take-away section but I don't know how to freeze it, or indeed if those are up-to-date prices. What was it like for price when you were there? I suppose I could always e-mail them. OldAndy I could make the spreadsheet OK - I'll have you know I got 100% in the Excel exam in my ECDL Extra course and I was top of the class! But, it's trying to find the information to put in it that's so difficult - like the prices. And then, of course, things change every season as new management take over etc. so I'd have to try and find the current situation and the Trip Advisor etc. reviews might be out of date. But - I am trying! Have you got any suggestions yourself? |

We seem to be on another new page now, so for those that don't already know I'd like to say that there are still a few rooms left in the chalet Bonjour Bonjour in Tignes Les Brevieres if anyone else wants to come with us on this J2Ski group holiday.
http://www.skibonjour.co.uk/chalet-tigneslesbrevieres.cfm The only fixed price is for the catered chalet. How much you pay for transport, lift pass, ski hire etc. is up to you. 4 adults sharing a quad room without a balcony pay £350 p.p. for the chalet. 2 adults sharing a twin or double room without a balcony pay £399 p.p. If you can get cheap flights and use the chalet transfers the total price will look something like this (flights from Luton to Geneva, details on the previous page): Catered chalet quad room, plus flights, transfers, 6 day Espace Killy lift pass, 6 days Intersport 'noir' ski hire = £773 Catered chalet twin/double room, including all of the above = £822. ![]() |

Another restaurant from Andyhull's list is Les Clochetons.
Here is the website for it: http://www.lesclochetons.com/localisation.html
(photo taken from their website) It's on the right as you come down the blue Santons piste, just before you get into Val d'Isere. So, it's not actually 'up' the top of a mountain, but it is at least at the side of the piste with views of the mountain, and not in a village. The Santons piste is the one that gave me a nasty surprise when I was ski-ing down it at the end of April. I wouldn't advise anyone who usually sticks to only blue runs to try getting to the restaurant via this route. You can also get there by road from Val on the free bus, 'Le train vert'. At one point the Santons turns into a steep half-pipe, which was crowded with ski-schools and icy when I was ski-ing down it. My daughter had no problem - she just went straight down it - but I skied it in classic half-pipe style and it was quite difficult to avoid all those who were really struggling with it. Then it turns into an open schuss, and the final section into Val is pretty flat. This restaurant is situated on the flat section but before you get into the village. Anyway, I saw it when I was ski-ing past and I thought it looked very nice. And now I've looked it up I can see that the menus are set at a reasonable price as well. Here are some of the cheaper items (all prices in euros). Homemade beef lasagne = 11.90 Soup of the day = 6.50 Tomato and basil pasta = 12.20 Chips (as a side dish) = 5.70 Mixed salad (as a side dish) = 5.70 |

I am really rubbish at telling the difference between one piste and another - but AndyHull's one looks a bit like Courchevel. I remember ski-ing around some huge pylons like that!

As a matter of fact Bonjour asked me to put everyone's details down on a spreadsheet for our group holiday, and e-mail it to them.
It was the first time I'd ever used Excel and I did find it rather 'challenging'. It prompted me to go on a computer course and I spent one day every week for 15 weeks learning how to use Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I am now the proud owner of a certificate in ECDL Extra Level 2 (about the same level of difficulty as a GCSE I think). Luckily I didn't have to pay for the course, because it came under a European grant scheme to encourage Brits to go ski-ing in France  I have found it very useful, and I've put in everyone's flight times and ski-ing ability etc. and posted it up on our FB group so that we can sort out who's arriving when, and where, and who wants to ski with whom etc. |
