The mountains are lovely in the summer. We went last summer to Megeve and I was surprised how much there was to do. We took the traintram up Mont Blanc then walked all the way down.
Swimming, mountain walking, biking, Lugeing (toboggan type dry land things on wheels). This coming summer we hope to do some gentle white water rafting with 10 yr old son, and maybe horse riding.

For me it the Gym, swimming, jogging, walking...not much thrill involved, but I enjoy keeping fit and so ready for the next ski trip !
The most important and enjoyable time of the year.

No they ( my oldest son and friends) havnt found anyone yet...

AlleyG that sounds like me....in bed early when skiing...totally knackered.

Its an issue about wieght/baggage because we need so much gear for skiing. . .and when we females need all our usual stuff on top . . .well !!

Chamonix or Les Contamines might be your best bet as they are high up.
