Hi Lilywhite, we had the same dilemma a few years ago and, like you, chose Banff as the deal was much better. That is why am contemplating Tremblant this time (and the deal is better as Bogof lift pass too)
TH, thanks for the tip, the ski area seems to be a concern of mine too, however, for 7 days it may be worth a try ?? mmmmmm, I have to make a decision before 30 May. |

Totally agree with snapzz, France doesn't seem to do Christmassy stuff (or what we perceive it to be )never tried Austria at that time of year
If you want Christmassy then do Canada or US, they do it very well. TP |

Mrs TP has found a reasonable deal to Tremblant in Jan, hotel looks fine, no cars in village, lovely, looks pretty and the hill looks inviting for a weeks skiing.
Downside, a long way but nothing a couple of Nytol couldn't sort out ? Also, are the deals that the holiday companies offer today not as good as the ones in June/ July? TP |

The prices are no different to anywhere else in the world where there are tourist's. I remember being stuffed in London last year, 2 gin and tonics £35, that hurt the next morning when I found the receipt
You have to accept that when in these places it will cost more. My attitude is that you are on holiday so don't worry about it, you budget all year round for these moments, enjoy them! |
