   Looking at the Tignes webcams this morning, it seems as if they've had quite a bit of snow. http://www.tignes.net/en/skiing-in-tignes/webcams-290.html Tignes Le Lac at 9 a.m. (French time) this morning (taken from the webcam). I think the building beside the lake, with the wigwam next to it, is 'Le Lagon' swimming pool and fitness centre. Entrance to the 25m swimming pool and outside ice rink is free with a lift pass of 6 days or more. ![]() |

Andy - good point
I wonder if Admin wants to go on my list? :?: |

Andy - maybe we should get this thread back on track a bit more, in case Admin finishes picking Icy's birthday present and designing a flag for Scandinavia, and decides to wade in with his axe  I thought I'd look up Yllas on the resort description section on here, because Dan55 is going there and I'd never heard of it before. This is some of what it says: Skiing in Ylläs Ylläs - Finnish Ski Resort (255m to 718m) Pronounced 'U-las', this is the largest downhill and cross-country ski centre in Finland with the greatest uplift per hour. The resort also boasts the country's greatest vertical, most runs and longest run ( 3km ). Many of the higher slopes are above the tree-line, which is unusual for Finnish skiing. The slopes are 4km from the resort, although you can nearly ski all the way back and in any case there is a free ski bus link. The sun does not rise in winter until late January, when temperatures can be as low as -15ºC although there is adequate daylight, Children get free rental equipment and lift tickets so long as they wear a helmet when skiing. It's just as well Dan55 is going in February, because otherwise he'd be ski-ing in the dark during the daytime  |

Oh dear Bandit, that sounds like a truly terrible experience. I'm so sorry
So, they never found the person who was responsible for causing your injury? I mean, here in the U.K. if you hit another car and it's your fault then their insurers will make your insurers pay for any injury to the passengers of the other car, like whiplash etc. Did your U.K. insurers eventually pay up for everything that was on cover with them? And if it all happened again (which hopefully it never will), what would you do differently? |

Luckily for me, I've never had to claim on my travel insurance, or the Carre Neige.
What paperwork do you need to produce? I assume they ask for receipts for skis and the police report etc. if they're stolen, and that form the French doctors give you after they've treated you. Do the piste rescue people sort out witness statements etc.? |

Thanks Tony :D I'm glad you find the list interesting. |

The thing is, Tony, I've never organized a group holiday before, but I have been letting holiday cottages for about 15 years through an agency, and I know very well that it can be difficult to persuade people to pay the balance of their holiday by the required date, which was 12 weeks ahead in this case. So I am very pleased that everyone in the group paid their balance to Bonjour ahead of time! I didn't have to nag anyone 8) :D  |
