My daughter took this photo when we were in Les Brevieres at the end of April, and I was rather puzzled about the railway-like construction in the background.

I know there is supposed to be a new lift to get up to the chalets above Les Brevieres, and I'm wondering if this is it.



And if anyone else is thinking of joining us on this holiday there are still 3 rooms available in the chalet Bonjour Bonjour. The total price including flights/transfers/catered chalet/ski hire and lift pass works out at about £850

A friend of mine has asked me to go ski-ing with her in Tignes at the beginning of March - so I'm going to Tignes twice now! :D

I've put the recent additions to the list in bold. If I've made any mistakes please let me know and I'll correct them. And if anyone else wants to go on the list just say so and post up your destination and the date you're going and the Excel sheet will automatically work out how many days/sleeps you have left before you leave.

Actually I knew you were a Mrs as well (because of what you said before), but I just thought Miss J2SkiNews sounded more effective somehow - so sorry for that :oops:

I don't mind if you write stories about helmets, but I'm not going to take part in the helmet debate again because I said everything I wanted to say about it the first time. But I'm quite happy to wibble on about other things on your helmet threads - like whether you're male or female :wink: :lol:

Cath Davies, and Gaz C, I've added you both to the list (on the previous page), but you only gave me the number of sleeps, not the date, and I do both, so if the date is wrong please let me know and I'll correct it :D

Oh, it's a new page now. Never mind, I'll post the new list back up tomorrow, when the number of days/sleeps will have updated again :D

Old Andy and I have booked our bus tickets now from Bourg station up to Les Brevieres with Altibus on Sunday morning.

I had to buy a single ticket - total price about 12 euros, and the bus leaves at 8-15 a.m. and arrives in Les Brevieres at 8-50. Apparently the bus stop is only about 100 yards from the chalet. A taxi would cost about 80 euros.

The Altibus tickets are rather strange. I have also bought a ticket from Les Brevieres to Geneva, for my return on the following Sunday evening. But it's not actually a ticket. What I have is a reservation e-mail and I have to take it to the bus station in resort at least 48 before I leave and exchange it for a real ticket.

I was talking to someone once, on another ski holiday, who'd forgotten to do this and he had to watch the bus drive away and then pay a fortune for a taxi! I assume they do it because lots of people don't show up and then they can re-sell their tickets.

So, I will have to remember to go to their office, which is in the Maison de Tignes building in Le Lac and exchange the e-mail for a real ticket.
