It's our second season skiing, and we're driving this time. I'm expecting we do another trip this season, and as the kids are into it this is an ongoing thing. That's the good news! :)
At Megeve ski hire is €100 per week, at Decathlon I can buy a set of boots £100 and skis for £150. Buy or hire? Cheers. |

Thanks all, Riffleberg is full as is almost everything in Zermatt so I might try Cervinia instead.
Wrong forum now though :) |

Hi all,
Having found this facility in Zermatt that would be great for our kids, is there accomodation actually in Sunnegga Paradise within walking distance of the beginner's park or do you have to get on the furnicular? (Going literally any distance with small kids in sub-zero temperatures is a huge palaver) http://www.zermatt.ch/en/page.cfm/families/family_friendly_experiences/ffe_winter/ffe_w_5 Cheers. |

I've found this at http://www.stanfordskiing.co.uk/snow_guarantee.htm
Can anyone vouch for them, or their opinion? "Yes, Megeve is low, but its proximity to Mont Blanc gives it much better snow than most other resorts at the same altitude. Another often-forgotten factor is that high resorts are frequently closed due to high winds and avalanche risk, or the skiing is miserable in white-out conditions. Most years we find half of Chamonix skiing in Megeve from time-to time, because the Chamonix resorts are closed. The tree level skiing in Megeve provides shelter and visibility. Also, much of the skiing is on pasture, so we don't need a lot of snow, unlike many of the high resorts which need a metre to cover the rocks! Usually there are good snowfalls in April." |

Hi all,
I'm considering going back to Megeve for Easter, which is the end of April. I appreciate it's the end of the season. How would I get an idea of what the snow cover will be like that time of year? We're only beginners, so it's just on piste we'd use. Thanks. |

Thanks Goff.
What is the artificial surface like? I haven't seen one in twenty odd years and it wasn't exactly attractive back then. Also, their website says you need to be able to snowplough before you can just practice, so it's no good for my boy. |
