You're on the Excel sheet and I've also added you to the list on the previous page (in bold). I'm not re-posting the whole list, because it's huge :shock:

There are 59 holidays on it now, including 2 of mine :)

If anyone else wants to go on the list would they please say so, giving their destination and date. And everyone is very welcome to carry on posting up messages about sleeps, as usual, if they want to :)

I think the best way to build up confidence ski-ing is to ski with someone worse than yourself - it makes you realize you're not really as bad as you thought!

I've been in loads of ski lessons and it's surprising how many people get stuck at a certain level - I know someone who's been about 10 times and still isn't happy on a red run.

For herself, as long as she's happy ski-ing and enjoying herself I don't think it matters how fast she skis or whether she prefers to stay on green/blue runs. But I can see it being a problem if you want to ski together. The only thing I can suggest is that you ski together for part of the day on easy blues and you amuse yourself by ski-ing backwards, on one ski etc. I mean it's much easier for a good skier to ski slowly on an easy slope than for a nervous slow skier to ski faster on slopes they're not happy on.

Maybe, if you try this, she'll relax and start to laugh at your ridiculous antics - trying 360's, on one leg etc. and she may even become confident enough to risk going a little faster herself :)

Thanks Andyhull, Les Brevieres is looking good :)

I had my ski boots properly fitted in a shop that Bandit recommended, and they didn't feel too small when I first put them on. They never hurt me at all from day one. I bought them in the U.K. in Profeet in London but I gave them a good testing by ski-ing in the 'Ladies Morning' in the snow dome at Milton Keynes for several hours.

And I've just had them thoroughly checked over, and they still fit me fine, 2 1/2 years later. They did say, though, that if I want to upgrade to really tight fitting boots as my ski-ing improves, I could go down a size because at the moment I am in between sizes. But I've got no intention of doing that because I'm only a 1 or 2 weeks a year recreational skier - and I'm quite sure I'll never become an 'expert' skier.

I noticed when we were in Tignes in October with the international slalom racers that their boots were incredibly tight fitting - they had an awful job to get them on and off. I would hate to have boots like that. I like mine as they are :)

Best of luck with finding a good boot technician who will fit you with some comfy boots that really fit your feet!
