The Carre Neige insurance says it covers repatriation to Europe (with a list of countries covered). So I should think that even if you needed a special plane to go home in after an off-piste ski-ing/snowboarding accident it would be covered if you'd bought insurance with them.

If anyone else wants me to add them to the list would they please say so and give the date and destination, and then Excel will automatically update the number of days left.
There are currently 60 individual holidays on the list, although some lucky people are going more than once, and some even luckier people are staying out there for the season :)

That is really awful, but it's amazing how stupid people can be sometimes :shock:

I was looking just this morning at how many pistes were open in Tignes and most of them were shut and they said there was a high avalanche risk. I posted about this on our group holiday thread.

I hope they are OK and they are more careful in future about where and when they ski. I also hope they have insurance that will cover them for being off-piste in conditions like they had this morning - or else they will have a large bill to pay!

I've been having a look to see how many pistes and lifts are open today in Tignes. They seem to be having a problem with too much snow (!) and the high avalanche risk, and there aren't many open, although it does say on here that the link with Val d'Isere is supposed to open later today:

Have you looked to see if they've put the new piste map up on the internet as well?
