Condolences and prayers to his family and friends.

No not really.
Virgin Media have in house techs, like me and a permenent contract partner that handle a lot of installation work.
We all operate out of the same site and to joe blogs we all look the same, wear same uniform and drive the same vans. But to insiders it's very much a "them and us" situation
He worked for them so was not part of my immediate family. But having worked on that side of the fence I do know the immense pressure they are under to work and work hard.
It would not suprise me if it was a "turn in for work or don't come back" situation. And that leaves me feeling sick at the thought of a genuinely ill guy loosing it behind the wheel.

Apparently he hit a parked truck that was in a lay-by at 70mph, the vans have trackers and show no attempt to brake at all.
The local news just showed photographs of the scene and the cab of the van is just gone...

What a sad day at work today.
One of our lads died when he hit a truck at 70mph, feel so sorry for his family.
The saddest part was that he called in sick this morning but somehow ended up at work. I really hope pressure was not placed on him to turn in, I am sure his manager must be feeling incredibly guilty whatever the circumstances.

Just goes to show how fragile life can be so make the most of it.

Holy crud, I just went to see if I could find a garage open and without a queue, and as I drove down the road, I saw a large number of flashing police lights ahead. One of the petrol stations which was empty earlier today, had a tanker delivering fuel. There were in excess of 100 cars all trying to queue ready for when the station opened, and they had completely blocked a main A road. Hence the Police, trying to force everyone to drive on. It was absolutely ridiculous!

I did not bother looking any further, I will just get up earlier and get the bus tomorrow. Screws up my journey, but no option really

Where do you live Tony?
