...and... it's out again this morning... Still some interesting possibilities far out though. Worth noting, for those convinced that the forecasts always tease us with quantities... is that this weeks snows (most significantly Thursday and Friday, Zermatt in the firing line) originally appeared in the long-range forecast as minor snowfall but have built progressively as they come closer. The first week of December is clearly challenging the models at the moment, however, and could go either way. |

Not looking too shabby for mid-November...

Not nearly enough! You missed out an important note from that page... "Snow Forecasts beyond two days ahead are subject to significant change and variable reliability." ... which is why we qualify next week's outlook with a "possible" at best. That said, the snowfall now in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week does look like it could be substantial above 2,000m and maybe to 1500m. Further out, the forecast models have been showing a turn to cold for the start of December for a while... and they are swapping the precipitation in and out like a very indecisive thing at the moment so very uncertain. Does look promising for the Pyrenees though. I reckon it'll snow a bit, somewhere. 8) |

Evening all. Following not-quite-as-hard-on-the-heels-as-we'd-have-liked of our picture upload update, we've just released the first cut of a new feature that will let you (easily, we hope) send us pictures and snow reports directly from the slopes.
Everybody else can then see what a great time you're having but, more importantly, see what the snow's like! GUINEA PIGS WANTED - PLEASE SQUEAK NOW! If you happen to have to hand, a picture or two that nicely illustrates the snow conditions you had last year - and you know the date you took the photo (this is important!) - then please head over to our new forum area and have a play... Go to Snow Reports from Ski Resorts And click the button that looks a lot like this :- Please report any issues, or suggest improvements, in replies to this topic... many thanks! |
