Firstly I always find talk of subcultures a bit Marxist; the theories of which you should not ignore in your dissertation. Whilst it might be probable that there is some sort of sub culture around ski racing and this could also potentially apply to the very top end of park/pipe and steep skiing. I have always found that regardless people's ability, country of origin, culture etc. there is a lot of commonality around good apres ski music and decent food. 99.99% of people just aspire to be able to ski the conditions presented.
For clothing etc. functionality rules. Naturally we would all like an Arc'teryx jacket but most of us will have to wait for the J2Ski Christmas giveaway. |

Bizarre - Have fun showing a regression analysis on frequency of ski jacket purchase vs. sense of adventure.

I guess my first question is what caused the need for spinal fusion. Normally this is not the result of an impact rather degeneration / bulging typically from a desk job. If that is the case whilst it might give you some psychological support the back protector is probably useless. My advice listen to the body quit the day job, become a ski bum and inspiration for us all.

Nice initiative but seemed to be missing some questions on key features, but perhaps is a non technical pack?
Weight Ability to carry skis or board / crampons / rope Water bladder compatible (personally I believe are not very good for winter but nice to have for the summer) Am not convinced that anyone has really nailed the 35L daypack so good luck. |

Normally just swap skis with someone and job done.

Completely disagree with Mike, there is nothing worse than loose boots (Tight does not mean uncomfortable).
1) Can't ski properly 2) Dangerous I would be less concerned about absolute length of the boot than if it actually holds your ankle in place. If it doesn't may as well get out your wellies; also waterproof and useless for skiing. |

For a cheap holiday why don't you just do air B&B and or B&B + budget airline? If you go off peak i.e. 2nd week of Jan you can get 60euro a night with either of those options.
