Blowing out ski boots
Started by User in Ski Hardware, 11 Replies
Icy, Profeet told me not to put my boots on heated boot racks, because they said it damages the special insoles.

I don't know if this is the reason for the pain in your feet, but it's something you shouldn't do.
Hi Paul,
As far as I know there is also a vacancy for one single male in Tiger 7's room, which is a triple room, number 14. He's got it all to himself at the moment :)

And in the vacant quad room Bonjour have said they will accept a booking for 2 people, but normally they charge a £200 supplement for only one person. However, I suppose they might waive the supplement seeing as the holiday is so close now.

Are you interested in making a last minute booking for this holiday and coming with us?

If you are interested, then send me a pm and we should be able to sort something out for you :)
The black Sache run down from the top of the Aiguille Percee (2,748m) to Les Brevieres (1,550m) is open today :)

The weather looks great this morning in the Espace Killy (Tignes and Val d'Isere) - sunny, not much wind, limited avalanche risk, and nearly all the pistes and lifts are open :)

Let's hope the weather is like this when we're there, in less than 2 weeks!

Snow chains
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 9 Replies
You don't usually need to put the chains on, it's just that sometimes you do, so you have to have them with you (and know how to put them on!).

You only need them if there's snow on the road, and it's usually just for the last half hour or so up the mountain to the resort.

Sometimes the police will check all the cars going up and only let you through if you have snow chains on.

You might find that you need the chains even though you see cars without chains managing OK in the snow, and this will probably be because they've got winter tyres.

Thanks for the news update Snapzzz - Les Arcs is somewhere I've always wanted to go, partly because it's so close to the Eurostar railway station :)

I thought Little Snapzzz was bringing a friend, or was that for another holiday?

Thanks very much for letting us know :)
And I'm really pleased to hear you have had a great time :D

There is still one room left in the chalet Bonjour Bonjour in Tignes Les Brevieres during our group holiday week (starting Sunday 13th January), if there is anyone who fancies a last minute ski/board holiday. The room takes 4 people, but it counts as full with only 2.

As I've said before, the catered chalet costs £399 per person, the cost of flights depends where you're flying from and with whom, but at the moment an EasyJet return flight from Luton to Geneva with luggage is £84, the chalet transfer from Geneva to the chalet is £60 return, ski hire in the chalet is around £90, and the area lift pass is 235 euros for 6 days.

Visa's exchange rate today is 1.21 euros to the pound, so the lift pass costs around £194 plus currency conversion charges.

Total per person (for the costings above) = £827

If there is anyone interested in coming with us would they please let me know, either by posting up on here or sending me a pm.

Thanks :D
