Thankfully, no statements on his blog stating "worst guests ever" or anything like that! He did mention the bottle of champagne we bought for them at the end of week. Great hosts and I think we'll be back there before too long.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy some painkillers from a pharmacy in Chamonix?

This guy's truck needs a service...or he's running it on neat crude oil.

Oh no, wait... you mean sometimes TV shows "amend" the truth for dramatic effect???

Absolutely not....we're just incredibly fast learners and clearly oozing with natural talent. I'll be donning lycra and hitting 70mph on the Hahnenkamm before too long.

60 odd days here to go......far too long. We might have to cancel our summer hol next year and go on 3 ski trips instead!

Sorry to inform you Snapzzz, but Kostelic has put in a protest with the FIS for some blatant gate straddling. You have been disqualified and must hand back the trophy immediately.
I don't think I mentioned in any of my previous posts that we were filmed by Channel 4 on our 1st day in Val d'Isere last month. Not quite what we'd expected when we booked the holiday!!

Our chalet apartment hosts were the reason for this. See attached link:-

In case you're interested their apartment details here:-

Channel 4 were there for the week and we obliged for half an hour on the 1st day on the nursery slopes doing some snow plough turns as newbie skiers under the careful guidance of Steve, our instructor. Steve must be good because we were heading down a bumpy red run an hour or so later!! )

God knows if our little bit of coaching will make it to the final edit but if you see a couple of lidded 40 somethings ploughing down the nursery slopes at 4mph that's us! I'll get a batch of signed photos ready and no doubt Hollywood will be on the phone on Monday.

Here's hoping there's some good footage of the resort to accompany the pre-nuptials.

Who wears a helmet?

I enjoy mountain biking and would not contemplate going out without a helmet. Speeds up to 30mph over rocky ground = possibility of much damage!! I don't mind losing some skin but bashing my head on a rock doesn't seem like a good idea!

I "perceive" less risk when skiing (not sure if this is rational) but wear a helmet anyway. New to the sport and bought one as a matter of course when kitting up.
