Hi Salski,
I don't see why Tony doesn't like the sound of St Gervais - it sounds like a really lovely place to me - with a great mix of slopes and posh and non posh villages.
Eggman and I are getting ready to ski with you - he's getting faster skis and I'm getting new boots - so we can try and keep up
I'm also going to see if I can fit in a couple of hours in the Milton Keynes Snowdome on Thursday morning, next week, to try my new boots out. I must try and remember to ask Pablo or Bandit if it's okay to try boots out the next day. New boot technology is all very new to me :D

I think it was based on your earlier 'Thanks, but no thanks' post

You should go to Specsavers.....the person in front of you in the red jacket definitely wasn't me! The only time I overtook you was in the queue for food
You'll be flying next season - new feet, new boots, new skis......I can't compete with that!
The plan is.... there's no plan!

My O/H says the same and she's always right :)

Eggman - which skis have you got your eyes on? Are they on sale yet? I'm hoping that I will be able to buy some cheap boots on sale at the boot fitting place.

AllyG hope you get what you are after. I'm looking at some Salomon XW Storm( opinions please) but have got my eye on some Salomons on ebay at £250.+poastage. Is it worth the hassle to fly them out to St G. or should I shop local? I will get better service if I get them inthe village just might have to pay a bit more :(

Nice carvers. But really depends on snow conditions. Not ideal for powder days or off-piste (unless it's very packed). May fly them to St. Gervais AND have to get another pair locally. But given the time of the season they can still be OK.

Eggman,
Won't they have a sale on in the local shop in St Gervais as well? Have you tried phoning them? I mean, it is pretty much the end of the season now.
I will start another thread up about boots, before I get in trouble again for wibbling
