Hmmmmm, you have it bad

AllyG has been, last autumn, so you could ask her.

Edge2Edge have been around for many years and are a good quality retailer.

TDC are a top flight ski teaching biz, grab the chance!

Mountainsun provide the accommodation, and I only ever hear good things about the co. and their staff.

Hi mfc,
Bandit is quite right (she has an amazing memory!). I did go last October. My daughter and I both really enjoyed it, and I'm in the middle of booking to go again.

The only snag in going for 3 days is that it's a bit risky in case you lose a day or more because of a white-out or whatever.

This is what I said about it in my report:

i don't see why a white out would mean you lose a day, unless they close the lifts of course?

Its something I am mulling over doing this year, as my ski time is going to be a little restricted from now on, and grabbing a short midweek break would work for me. I like the idea of going when most other resorts are shut as well. I have not been glacier skiing out of main ski season.

Tony,
Whoever it was who went out after us (I'm sorry I don't have a memory like Bandit's), said that they'd closed the whole slope for I think 3 days, because of very heavy snowfall, but she was okay, because it was just before she went. Maybe it's in my thread - I haven't re-read it.

There was pretty much no snow apart from on the pistes when we went, and that was pretty icy, but we still had a great time.

I know I sound like a parrott, but if you want 3 or 4 days on a glacier at that time of year then Hintertux is a better bet, more than twice the amount of available distance and mainly chairs or gondolas. Okay Tux is a little quiet, bit this can more than be made up for by the deals you can get on 4* spa accomodation with good eating. I rode the Hintertux on the 4th of Oct 2008, 80cm of new snow the night I arrived, sun for 3 days and about 70km of piste open. There are also a lot of equipment testing weeks up there.

Tino, the big pull for the Tignes event is the lead price for the package of £99. Everyone loves a bargain. Hintertux may be way better, but it's unlikely to be cheaper.

Exactly. I'd go to Tux any day rather than Tignes, but those prices are very good.
