yeah i did feel sorry for the baby for the first hour but then couldn't think why would you even bother taking such a small thing to the alps with you, every where is covered in snow and ice ,every one one fell over at least once when not on the slopes ,it was -13 on 2 of the days and the worst thing was it was freezing the head on the murphy's with in 5 minutes. :D

Ok, freezing the head on your Murphy's, now you have my total sympathy :)

Don't want to inconvenience other travelers such as ATOO with your child screaming in pain do you, tut tut..
I wouldn't normally comment, and I apologise for not really answering to OP's question; but this is a missive bugbear of mine, and the above comment is typical of some people's attitude.
If the child is in pain as you suggest, don't take it on the plane in the first place!
It's funny how many parents are completely oblivious/ignorant to just how selfish it is to make everyone else sit through an entire flight they've paid good money for, listing to a screaming child.
I personally think there should be an age restriction on travelling infants.

Sorry, that is total rubbish, What is that age cap, 2,3,4 ??? All children develop at a different age. Maybe they should teach Mothers in antenatal classes to understand they cant have a holiday abroad for until there child is 4, if you then have another child you have to wait even longer. I have always been fortunate, our children have never suffered, but if i listened to people like you we wouldn't have had some great holidays over the past 8 years.

So everyone should have to suffer then??

I am childless and have little patience with people who wish to inflict their children on me.
However in the case of a baby on a plane I have sympathy. I don't think people should be banned from crying because babies cry. We've all been babies and all been given allowances.
My bugbear is with children who misbehave to the amusement of their parents who seem to think I should find it as 'cute' as they do. The word parent is a verb as well as a noun. Babies are a minor irritation compared to the children who don't understand the word no and that not everywhere they are taken is their personal kingdom.
Having said this there are also plenty of well behaved children on flights. It's just that you don't notice them and the annoying families stand out so much more.
I would pay more to be guaranteed a child free cabin. But not because of crying. Because of brats.

Now Mekka I can agree with that. I am not saying ours are Angels but I am all for them behaving themselves, especially when there are other people around. In fact I find it embarrassing when ours make a noise or disturb others.
