I'll second that. Considering she's not a commentator by trade she's doing an absolutely cracking job of it. And it's nice to hear the enthusiasm still in her voice despite the situation she's in. I get the feeling she's put the regular guy's nose out of joint a little too which is quite amusing
I wish I could meet the person who first decided to strap 2 planks to their feet and throw themselves down a mountain

Talking of commentry, I love listening to those 2 idiots on Eurosport. Ex racers they may be, but they don't half talk some rubbish.

Typical example will be either someone skiing down and one of them saying hes out of touch and looking slow, only for the green light to come on and them fly into the lead, or the opposite and they say how well they're skiing and flying, and sound surprised when they're a second off the pace at the finish.

This aside though Tony i have to admit i think Eurosport absolutely nails coverage for winter sports. They do a brilliant job of broadcasting as much as possible. I am a little biased though as im also into cycling and they cover all this too :P

The BBC is a joke like you say. By the time they get round to showing any coverage the season will be over 6 weeks in...

For other coverage on ski footage for those who have sky HD i would reccommend Rush HD. I think its a such a great channel for all the freeski footage.

I thought Chemmy Alcott was really good as well. Great enthusiasm and obviously highly knowledgeable about what was going on!

Ski Sunday was such a good programme 2/3 years ago. It was on for an hour and featured not just racing, but also some 'Top Gear' type features. I also liked the snowboarding that they covered. Then the dreaded credit crunch hit,the BBC sports budget got slashed, and we only get a rushed half hour programme. Lets hope they invest some cash back into it soon.

Having said that, I have heard that the BBC have declined the opportunity to cover the Commonwealth Games in 2014 in Glasgow. This is a real shame and seems to indicate that they are not likely to invest much cash into sports for the next few years!
