Not aware that T/Os are using Jet2. It's a good alternative for DIY-ers.
I would be far more concerned to be flying with Thomsons, Crystal and Inghams into Innsbruck.

Really? Jet2.com planes have been out on charter to tour ops for a number of years. Rose used them last season, I flew with them 2 years ago (chartered by Rocketski) and they appear in many summer brochures too.

So, why would you be concerned about flying into Innsbruck with those companies? Thomson invariably use their own fleet, Crystal are the same firm, and Inghams used to use First Choice and often use Monarch. Or is there something at the airport of concern?

It relates to the ILS landing system required to land in poor viz in Innsbruck. Last season, while other T/Os could land at Innsbruck, Thomsons could not, and were diverted to Verona. (Remember you commented at the time that a diversion to Munich would be bnearer.)

You may have had a bad experience. All airlines get plane breakdowns, and passengers have to wait for replacements. When we use lower cost airlines, the risk of replacement waits increases.

Are you on the board at Jet2.com Dave?

I also have to say I am not sure you are correct with your statement re ILS. Thomson operate a fleet of modern 737-800s and some older 757s, all of which would be able to land at Innsbruck in bad weather provided the approach was permitted.
It may well have been pilot or operational decisions not to land.
I ought to point out that in bad weather, Thomas Cook were diverted to Munich when I was affected personally.
Its odd that you mention "other t/o's" could land at Innsbruck when they tend to fly with TCX, TOM or MON, most of whom operate identical fleets along with Airbus aircraft.
