Dave Mac wrote:Hi Rose, glad you are back, it was very quiet last week, can't imagine why!

When does your son go to La Manga? And how will I know him? We are there on 31st Oct.

Hi Dave, he may not be going, he has a difficult time with his Father right now, and I can not really get involved. I am cross 'cos I think he should go he does enjoy it. I'll keep you posted if he goes.

Hi Rose

Glad you enjoyed Kafalonia, I thought you would!
You cant go wrong with a lot of the Greek Islands but Kef is one seriously beautiful place.

Where did you stay, and where did you get round to visiting?
What was the weather like this time of year? Friends of mind are next door (sort of) in Corfu this week...

Needless to say we will be back to Kef next year but not at that time of year, if only we had gone 2 weeks early. Not only is the weather very changeble lots of taverna's etc have closed for the winter. Nonethe less it was a fantastic place. Hired a car for the week and travelled around the entire Island, clocked up 700 miles, of which Hubby said was a pleasure driving around. Kef has the most beautiful beaches, coves, fishing ports but the Mountains are lovely with breathtaking views and really scary roads to drive around.
We stayed at Trapezaki near Lourdas. We had a 4 storey villa on top of a hill absolutely surrounded by the sea on 3 sides and the mountains on the other. We went to Scala,Poros,Sami,Litherto,Svoronata, Argostli,Myrtos beach,Katelios, Assos, Lassi,Fiskardo, Lixouri. Visited the Drogarati caves, The underground Lakes at Mellisani. Lots of mountain villages. The people are the friendliest you walk along and acknowledge some-one and they fish an orange or apple out of their bags, you walk past some-ones garden they offer you fruit from their trees. you buy in Mini markets and when you get home they have put some sweets or a small bottle of Ouzo in. Eat a couple of times in the same taverna and they present you with a bottle of wine to take home. The food in cafes and taverna's is top notch, every thing in markets is so fresh.
Coming home check in at the airport is 3 hours so you check your bags in and 'cos you still have your car you go off out and about,or sunbathe in the gardens or a taverna just outside which has a pool.

Wonderful place, never thought I would get Hubby to enjoy mountains without snow, but he loved it.
We will be doing some research about selling up and moving there, thats how much we loved it.

Hi Rose, glad you had a good time, I know a couple from London who run a bar there, they love it, they've been there a few years now.
