You may not have chosen the best place in Söll as regards location, but the village is only 10/12 min away, and thats no big deal. For future reference, the Gansleit area is good, can still be a one stop ski bus to the lift, but I prefer to hoof it. At the days end, you can ski across the fields to the Gansleit hotel.
You may not be into architecture/old buildings, but Söll has the most beautiful church in Tirol ~ worth a visit to see the internal paintings.
The skiwelt is a terrific ski area, good for all capabilities, and full of character.

Just got back from 10 days in the Skiwelt area - I totally agree with DaveMac, great skiing area throughout and I am currently trying to look at cheap deals to go back again in March
mum works too hard to pay for the ski trips!

Thanks All for the constructive help.

Regarding images, I did a fair bit of research into the skiing area, but less so into the actual town :-), and it seems pretty expansive and good for the group ( mixed abilities all round) so we'll survive I think. Plus, price was right. It seems the scheffau area looks the best conditions and were thinking of trying to get to kitzbuhel one of the days as I understand it's an old medieval city and would be quite interesting.
