Don't give up the fight......

They have a signature.

I've asked for the address they left it at and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. I've knocked on all the immediate neighbours, so if they did leave them somewhere, then they must have picked a random house!

Tell them that you meant your neighbour, not the delivery driver's neighbour.
because I'm so inclined .....

Well, well, well! Spoke to City-link and driver said that he left the parcel with the neighbour directly to the left of me. "That will be Bill; 'he's a police man" I said. I then went on to say how the policeman was also able to tell me no one called 'Sharpe' lives within 200 meters of the house!

Driver is now going to retrieve the parcel from where he left it and deliver to me tomorrow. The plot thickens! :hunf:

Sorry to hear of your hassles

I have nothing really to add to this but wanted to post so I could get any updates as I'm intrigued (sorry for the ambulance chasing!)

That's just pants (sorry).

Get the retailer involved too, definately don't give up, I'd be furious!

I am so annoyed, I have been waiting so excitedly for them to arrive and now I don't even know if they will!

I do think it's very interesting that they will be retrieving the package from my 'policeman neighbour' (who doesn't have it) and then redelivering (as per my original instructions)to my policeman neighbour again because I won't be in!

Basically, you had a contract with the retailer - you gave them money in return for goods. Until you receive the goods, the retailer has not fulfilled his side of the contract. You should pursue the retailer for either a refund or replacement goods. It is up to the retailer to pursue the courier. If the courier left the delivery with someone else, that's their problem not yours. Even though you gave them permission to leave the delivery with someone else, it's still not your responsibility. After all, you cannot vouch for the reliability of your neighbours.

Don't give up. A decent retailer would put customer care first.
