If you really want to buy, go skiing at easter and pick up a pair in the resort sales, testing them first.

But with carriage and maintenance costs I agree with Peakmonster and OldAndy, best to carry on hiring.

Just work the figures out for yourself .......

Skis to buy ....... £250 max

Three weeks hire at £85 ...... they are paid for.

More like £1,500 with slalom skis (Rossignol 9s), Atomic GS skis and powder skis all available for euro90 a week and interchangeable. I make that 15-odd weeks.
