Nice to be here

Just wanted to say how nice it is to be able to come home and post on here, something I take for granted normally.
I had a very near death experience today on the A22 near East Grinstead, I was literally an inch away from being hit head on by a skip lorry that swerved straight towards me in an attempt to avoid the queue of cars in front of it which it had not seen until the last second.
Had I not managed to manouver out of the way, I would probably not be here now, we were both doing 40mph in opposite directions.

Sadly, the lorry managed to plough into 2 other cars and pushed them into another, no serious injuried but a right old mess on the road and several very very angry people.

I am now going to the pub to give thanks.

I hear they are going to rename it Grimstead after your unfortunate experience. I think we all forget the risk we take every time we get into the car until you have a near miss like you one. I had a fairly nerve-racking drive from Soll to Munich on Tuesday afternoon with cars speeding past on the motorway at up to 160kph in snowy conditions and temperatures of -6C. Thankfully nothing happened but was so easy to imagine how easy a really serious pile-up could have happened at any second!

Good to hear you're ok Tony. My mum and dad's top floor was gutted by fire today, fortunately they weren't in there. What a strange day.
