Anyway, back to 2010/11 season. Has anyone had the chance to look at any of those chalets in particular yet?
The £504 option in Zermatt for that price. )

A little research has come up with the following suggestions for fully catered chalets including flights, transfers, catered board for 1 week travelling 2nd week in Jan (based on 2010 prices):
ZERMATT
Option A - Chalet Genepy, right in the centre of town by the church, 1 min to bars and shops, 10 min walk to lifts, holds 12 people, high quality chalet with enhanced food and wine, £639pp.

Option B - Chalet Kamanga, best views over in Zermatt, in the Winkelmatten area, ski back to within 200m of the chalet, holds 20 people, all ensuite, £504pp.

ST ANTON
Option A - Chalet Moos, ski in/out on the side of the Galzig mountain, 5 min walk into village, all ensuite, 12 people, £569pp.

Option B - Chalet Jank, 5 mins to Nasserein gondola, sauna and fitness suite, all ensuite, enhanced food, £669pp.

Option C - Chalet Helvetia, directly opposite Nasserein gondola, all ensuite, enhanced food, 16 people, £679pp

VAL D'ISERE
Option A - Chalet Amelia, doorstep skiing, in Le Fornet area, all ensuite, 12 or 20 people if fully booked out with 2nd chalet, £599pp.

Option B - Chalet Sophie, La Legattaz area, ski in/out, all ensuite, enhanced food, high quality, £629pp

There are of course hundreds of other options, but in terms of a few ideas in a couple of resorts which seem popular, this gives some food for thought. They were all taken from www.catered-ski-chalets.co.uk who I have used several times before, and this company often do deals such as 2 for 1 lift passes or other offers for early bookers. The links are from a different website.
Is this the sort of thing people had in mind?
It might be worth googling the chalets for reviews on trip advisor. I did that for the 2nd one in Zermatt, Kamanga, and reckon it may be best to pay a little more!!!!!

2nd St Anton
3rd Les Diaberets (Switzerland)
Me, Joanna. & infant Oliver
January or March (normaly booked in group february)
If its booked early enough, I have just booked with a good company 6 weeks ago for 6th feb 2010 chalet fully catered for 32 in Plagne 1800
for £250.00 p/p flights £80 p/p the same chalet was selling at the show last week for £550 p/p also offered the same chalet next door for any overspill at same price
Booking early makes a lot of sense, then people can make their own transport arrangements as we are better traveling from a northern airport but will go with the flow
