snowb4ndit wrote:Chatel would be a good choice, Ian. I love the place it's a totally unspoilt alpine village with easy access to the Portes du Soleil which, as I'm sure you are aware, offers good skiing for all abilities. It's picturesque with beautiful shops, bars and restaurants. Food and drink is reasonably priced compared to many other french resorts. I've read that there are no package holidays there, which is why it less busy than other ski areas.

After two weeks in the land of the gods my French has improved no end, the trouble is once they hear my French the locals start to speak English , I had a moan at the waiter tonight about I have been trying really hard to order everything in French and be under stood so why the hell do you keep speaking English to me, I understand most of what they say but it just takes me a few seconds to translate in my head.
But this old idea that the French are rude is so far from the truth only in drome mrs w ordered something and the waiter laughed !!! She possible ordered a dustbin who knows,
Send me a pm of this loverly place in Switzerland as it is a possibility that is of cause the customs let me in ......... Bar***ds. Love and peace .....xxxxxx from one happy frog.

Well we might as well look forward to the winter seeing as the summer has been non existent. I'm actually cold as I type this, and its still August......crispyapplepie wrote:Oh and I'm loving that we aren't even out of August and the banter looks like it's officially up and running.
