Sorry Eggman,
I just couldn't resist it
I did actually want to know if you went to Megeve itself, and what you thought of it. I am rather confused about the whole area - lift passes, ski buses, how hard it is to travel around etc.
Best of luck with choosing some new skis. I wouldn't know where to start, if it was me - there are so many makes and models around.

Ally no probs I got what I deserved :) As for Megeve we can get the lift up to Freddy in St G. then ski down to the Golf club and get a gondala that takes about 10mins across to Megeve. Its included in the Mt Blance Evasion pass. Or you can drive and park underground, near one of the large gondalas in Megeve that takes you straight to the top of Rochbruan (I think that's how its spelt) We think Megeve is a lovley ski area. As for buses no idea )

Did you think Megeve was really expensive? There was a 'debate' about this a while ago.

After just spending the week in St G, I was told of a cheaper, on the mountain eating establishment, it was actually given to me by the guy from Resort Rides who transferrred us. Ski down the Finance run in St G, about halfway down on the right hand side, is an old cow barn, very small, just 4 table inside, many more outside, but it's cheap. We were paying 5 euros for a big baguette, with soft drink being about 3 euro's. I can highly reccomend it.It was much cheaper than spending 5 euros per soft drink, and 8 euros for a beer at one of the other mountain eateries.

Thanks Eggman and Gary,
So, if you want to ski in the Megeve area, but you don't want to pay a high price for food and accommodation, which part is the best to stay in - St Gervais?
It was like that in Courchevel. 1850 is ultra expensive, but it's only a few minutes ski/gondola ride from 1550 which is much cheaper.
