Well I just hope Ally's going to help me break the news to my husband before he reads it on here...and I hope she forgives us for trashing her thread!

Hi Everyone,
It's okay Snowbandit, I don't mind you all trashing my thread - it's my fault really for leaving it unattended. There are a few things I have to do every now and then . I can't spend my entire life playing on the computer and attending to my threads .

Actually, it was quite amusing, and confirmed what I thought - you are all rubbish at French :D

Perhaps I should re-phrase my thread to say something like; would you all please think of the ten most important things you would like to be able to say in French during your ski holiday (and I mean reasonably sensible things). Something like 'where is the toilet' is perfectly permissable.

And if anyone else wants to do a German or Italian one that would be great, and they could use the same phrases.

Tino,
I rather thought you'd used a translation website. The problem is that they can be unreliable and land one in a nasty jam, because many words and expressions in English and French have multiple meanings.

Ally
