Sleeps till ski time

Not long now...
I know I'm a child at heart, but it always amuses me to try on my boots each year... they've been in the loft, they are cold and my feet take one look and yell "You ARE bl**dy joking aren't you? You want us to fit in THERE?" ...

And then you go clumping round the house, scaring the Bejesus out of the cat and hoping that no-one rings the doorbell while you're wearing them... but the sound is so evocative: that moment when you've skied all morning and stop for lunch... skis off, onto the restaurant deck, then 'Kerlump, Kerlump, Kerlump' as the heel-toe sound rings out, like a penguin in concrete shoes heading for the sardine run, coupled with the fun part of walking downstairs to the loo (they're ALWAYS downstairs) and hoping not to catch an edge on the way down...

D'you know the oddest thing? I really think sliding down icy mountains on 2 planks is insanely stupid and I don't enjoy the sensation AT ALL (well, not above nice reds) so why do I get so 'cited about going? Well, I love being in the mountains, but most of all, I love watching Mr P's face on that first bubble lift of the season. It is utterly worth everything in the world to me. -)

I last updated it 3 days ago - page 288. I don't know, however, that I will be able to update it whilst I'm away ski-ing myself. It depends if I can find a computer somewhere, as I don't have an internet phone.
