Thanks for your words of encouragement.
I have not purchased Ski pass yet. There is snow in Avoriaz. If there is no snow (will be the first time in a long long time), I will have to stay in the hot tub drinking champagne. Gutted  ;)

Off to Arabba on the 5th January. Decided as we love the Dolomites so much to go for a fortnight - 13 days skiing instead of 12 for two separate weeks, cheaper lift pass pro rata and only one set of flights. No idea how many sleeps but 'too many' about sums it up. :D

Just putting a "sensible hat" on for a moment...for what it's worth Stewart Dowling's comments highlight a good point. Make sure you want to be on the list.
Genuinely, I picked one person from the list and within 3 clicks I could find their home address, complete with a streetview picture (I can describe their car, their house and the plants in the front garden)....and of course I know when they will be away.
In case you didn't know, every time someone comments on this thread there is a live feed to 'twitter' saying "sleeps till ski time" with a direct link to this thread for all public to see.
And therefore if you have information within your 'profile', or possibly just through a 'username', anyone can find out who you are and when you will be away.
Sorry to be the boring one, I'm just saying 'be careful' what you publish!

Didn't know people put that amount of info in their profile, also if you are going on a trip it will not automatically mean your home is empty. You could also assume if someone has a job their home will be empty in working hours.

Just one more point, I totally agree it should be up to the individual to accept Allys invitation to be included on the list & not be placed there without permission. It seems to me in the current case Stewart is upset by having his details placed on the site without his consent & Smartski suggests its a good point because its to much info for others to see.
The downside of Stewart's response & Smartskis analysis is that Stewart had already posted his number of sleeps & destination earlier in the thread so it was already out there, just not on the list.
Lastly fair play to Ally for asking & receiving consent before adding anyone to the list.

Not being critical of anyone what-so-ever, certainly not AlllyG. I'm happy to be on the list, it's interesting and a bit of fun.... And I guessed Stewart was OK with it too...
I'm just saying, whether Stewart was being serious or a joke, it suddenly struck me were people concious that this goes out to Twitter and just how easy it is to find out a lot of personal information with the power of google.
