Good girl Rose, back on track without all this wibble.

Never had a problem with sharing with guests. Mind you, theres plenty of people out there saying "Do you remember that t***er who did airport runs?"

Rose,
There was an awful man we had to share a table with once, in a chalet in Tignes. He decided, for some reason I forget - maybe because I am English, that I was responsible for his brother losing his job which was why his brother wasn't with him on the ski holiday. And it took me the entire length of dinner to persuade him otherwise. We sat somewhere else afterwards.

Why would he possibly think that and where was he from?

Tony,
I can't remember exactly how his argument went. I just remember he was very angry with me and I hadn't done anything. It was something to do with regional unemployment and the unfair way money is distributed geographically in this country.

Basically I suppose he was just cross that his brother wasn't there and he decided to take it out on me. Anyway I did a pretty good job of convincing him that it wasn't my fault and at the end of dinner he invited us to have drinks with him at the bar. Naturally I wasn't at all keen on that idea so I made some excuse and we ran away.

And there was another man I was talking to in the chalet who droned on and on about what fantastic skiers he and his daughter were. I'm afraid I couldn't tell you the details of that conversation either as I carefully channelled most of it straight from one ear to out the other one but the upshot was that he felt his daughter was ready to start training as an instructor herself.

Anyway, the joke was that he and his daughter were having coaching lessons and we had a lesson afterwards with the same instructor. So I was very naughty and I asked the instructor if they were really brilliant skiers and he said that actually my daughter and I were pretty much up to the same standard as them except that they were a bit faster. And I am by no means a brilliant skier, although my daughter is pretty good.
