Hi gang, as its officially 'summer' I'm now starting to think skiing.

Want to do a 10 day break this year but I know most TO only do 7/14 days (unless you go to the US/Canada), hoping to go to Italy this winter, anyone got any suggestions for sites to look at?

Ta muchly :)

I too loked at this last year and came to the conclusion that DIY was the only way forward.
Skied: Arinsal, La Plagne, Alpe D'huez, Flaine, Les Arcs, Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Sauze, Courchevel, Val Thorens

Why a 10 day break? Is this a week plus a Monday hol, or somesuch?

We want to go out Weds/Thurs and come back Sunday, just something longer than the usual.

Then that looks like DIY, which, if you have attractively timed flights and transport links can be a good shout.

Any recommendations for accommodation? Looking for half board probably.

A lot of the European packages are for 1 week & if you want to go for longer DIY is likely to be the best option. It's simple enough to do pick a hotel you like in one of the tour ops brochure, search out their contact details & email or ring them & do a deal. If you are driving down it's easy enough - if flying it's too soon to book the budget flights (and care hire or transfers) until the flight schedules are out.

The tour operators do longer ones to Canada & the USA.

For a 10 dayer DIY is the way to go, but you may have trouble with accommodation in the more busier periods.
