European ski resorts are proving cheaper in price and in resort, according to Post Office Travel Money. Its latest 'Where to Sky Resort Report' has named Italy's Cervinia as the cheapest resort, with Romania named as offering the 'best value' budget resorts. If the exchange rate remains as it is, Eurozone skiers will have 8% more cash in their pocket. "Since 2008 when the euro began to dominate the UK pound, the numbers taking a skiing holiday have slid almost 25% to under a million, the lowest in a decade," commented Post Office Head of Travel Money Sarah Munro. "Ski companies may be optimistic that the coming season will be a turning point but skiers should watch exchange rates carefully as these will make a big difference to the cost of a ski holiday." However, a 6.3% strengthening against the Swiss franc and the sterling's weakness against the Canadian and US dollar will create higher prices in these destinations.
