Hello I am a student studying website design and I have recently been given the task of making a website that is aimed at young adults wanting to go to a certain ski resort.
I would like to know what are the main things you look for when you go on a ski resort website, such as contact details, accomodation, equipment etc.
Thanks to anyone who replies :)

I like to see a webcam and snow reports as well.
Information on bars and restaurants.
A forum is great (such as the one for Sauze d'Oulx) but not a deal breaker.
Good Luck

Hi,
I like to have an interactive map of the resort (sorry if that's a bit difficult to do), so that I can see where the various apartments are in relation to the shops, ski lifts, ski school meeting point, bus stop, and pistes.
I also like to see a piste map (one that can be blown up so you can see it properly), details on ski lessons, lift pass prices, and how to get there - rail, bus, car, plane.

webcams, lots of webcams, although I do appreciate that this is limited by the number of webcams in resort. I also find looking at photos of people who have visited before quite useful as it shows you more than the typical TO shots.
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

Definitely a good interactive piste map which clearly shows the colour of the pistes and the lifts.
How to get from airport to resort and which airports are how far away.

Webcams (if they exist) for the resort & snow reports.
Piste map too. Gives a feel for the size of the skiing.
If it's a smaller place an interactive map with hotels, chalets, hire shop rail, car park & lift locations.
Similarly you might want a bit about bars & restaurants as well as the other facilities.
A forum may be useful but I guess you may need moderators to weed out the unsolicited ads & legally problematic postings.

I agree with the interactive map suggestion. One where you can actually read the names of the trails and lifts :!:
Limit the pop ups as well. If I want to learn about your resort I don't want to be closing a pop up ad every minute.
