Anybody watching the winter paralympics on Eurosport - I have never seen the cross country skiing before - wow - that really puts my enjoyment of skiing into perspective.

During last week's trip to Serre Chevalier, I was trying to work out what was different about the skier in front of me getting onto a chairlift. I then realised that he only had one leg and his ski 'poles' were different. It was a very humbling experience.

I also saw a one legged skier in SC, I wonder if it was the same guy? He had little "paddles" on his poles for balance. In fact, thinking about it, I saw more disabled skiers in SC than I have noticed before in other resorts.

Could well be the same man Tony - red ski jacket I think? Also saw quite a few other disabled skiers and their helpers - I got the impression that SC was very pro disabled skiers. As I said, a very humbling but positive experience.

I saw quite a few disabled skiers in Courchevel as well. They always seemed to have a 'helper' with them, and when they got on the chairlift the lifties stopped the chair and helped them on.

It is nice to know that if I am ever so misfortunate as to lose a leg there is some hope that I will still be able to ski.

I think it's a great idea that they're adapting the ski lifts to take disabled skiers, and they label the lifts now as to whether they're disabled friendly or not, like stations on the London underground :D

I saw one disabled skier with minder in LGb last year who fell off the chair in front of us, good job it was at the start of the lift and he only fell about four feet
