Hi there,
Anyone have any experience of Hotel Weismayr in Bad Gastein? We are going there on 26th Jan. I have heard that the bus network is not good. Anyone any tips or experience of this?
Thanks,
P

I would avoid it. Snow is very temperamental especially in Bad Hof Gastein. If you are not near the slopes then its a long walk. Was there 3 years ago and did not enjoy it very much! Terrain not very challenging. But snow is just your luck i suppose!

Thanks Rossfra8.
You say the snow was not good? I thought the snow was more or less guaranteed with it being a high altitude resort? That was the main reason for choosing it, I got badly stung last year in Neiderau where there was zero snow.
Thanks,
P

I think we had a particularly bad year tbh although it was the holiday weekend in Feb. TBH our hotel (run by first choice) was so bad it just ruined everything. Should there be plenty snow it will be awesome. sportgastein gets very very cold so wrap up!!

Hi pmcmurrough,
I have an apartment in Bad Gastein so know the place well.
The Weismayr is right in the centre of the town so you’ll be fine. You’re also really close to the après ski if you’re up for that!!
The bus system has been criticised in the past but I think it’s a bit unfair. If you get a timetable you’ll be fine. To be honest, if you walk from the lift to the après ski you may as well walk the rest!!! It’s a pretty steep walk mind you but no probs.
My apartment is much further away than the Weismayr and I’ve walked to the lift before (and back from the Apres ski!)
Have fun!

How far away is Bad Gastein from Innsbruck? I'm going there in December.
Anyone in this chat live in Innsbruck?
