So, around this time of year I like to think about getting ski fit, 'thinking' usually being the operative word.
This year I have no excuse, I went for a walk around our local park this afternoon, it's practically my back garden, and to my absolute delight an outdoor gym has been installed, including a cross country skiing machine!
Yay!

Yeah, but....
There are plenty of gyms near us all....can we be bothered to go is a different matter. Out door gym in the rain will not be much fun :(

I've been working hard in the last few weeks on my exercise bike and rowing machine. My knees are killing me, but I've lost some weight and the fitness is coming. (Was firmly heading towards the 'tub of lard' category!)
Just hope the clouds reward my hard work! I won't be impressed if we only have the Tignes glacier to play on for a week!

Been doing legs dips with 4kg weights in each hand for 5 weeks now. Twice a day....started off with 50 and was feeling like death , but now up to 130 per session....plus badders and a bit of running. Must be getting keen ) .,,,,,but at my age I do need to keep my fluid uptake OK so its down the pub at equally regular intervals to balance things out
Carving leaves me all on edge

Our club holiday guide says: Preparation is the key to a great ski holiday. Special attention should be given to two main areas – general fitness and alcohol tolerance.
