Hi there

I've just recently got the skiing bug and I'm desperate to get away but can't do so until May and I'm really struggling to find a package deal to go anywhere.

Can anyone recommend any resorts or operators that go in May?

Many thanks in advance

Twaddy

Zermatt...but you will have to arrange it yourself i think but its easy enough
fly to geneva and train transfer

There won't be much other than Glacier skiing.

I should think the people we stayed with at Tignes in October could do something for you in May, and ski-ing would be on the glacier. I suggest you give them a ring, or e-mail them.

In October they included transfers to and from Geneva, minibus rides to the glacier in the morning and back late afternoon, and lift passes - as well as the usual meals etc. In October we even had free ski hire as well, but I wouldn't think they'd do that in May.

All we had to do was buy our flights to Geneva and back (with EasyJet).

Best of luck - I hope you find something suitable :D

There isn't much snow in Europe at all. Your best bet would be to head to North America.

Kirkwood have received 706" of snow so far this season alone.
Mammoth have had 593"
Whistler has only had 539"

Mammoth, Snowbird, Whistler and Sunshine Village will all be opening well in to May and usually only close due to a lack of paying customers.

Jackson Hole has a base depth of 140" but will be closing April 3rd with up to 40 inches of snow due to fall between now and then.

I'd forget it for May personally and book something for next season.

First week of May? Val D'Isere or the glacier at Engelberg (the tourist office website is very helpful as are the office staff in finding out what's likely to be open).

(Kirkwood - wonderful ski area!!!)

Just got back from Espace Killy region staying in Val D. and this year the weather doesn't seem to have looked so kindly on the region. Yes I had a great week but there was only just enough snow, and Sat was getting very slushy, and quite a few runs had big patches of soil appearing. Unless there happens to be a big dump, and temperature drop I can't see the season lasting late this year. The snow canons haven't been too effective as the temperature is just way to high and the only option was grooming off piste snow into stock piles and pulling it back on when things get bad.
