Hi. Can anyone advise me if going to Whistler to ski in the first week of May is a good idea or not? I've read that Whistler stays open until mid / end of May but they do close Whistler Mountain - leaving only Blackcombe open. Is it still worth going for this? There are cheap flights to Vancouver first week of May and some good deals on fab hotels. The other choice is Val Thorens in April for the same amount of money! wEurope is expensive! which one??

Have skied in Whistler for the last 15 years end of March .........there will always be enough snow at that time albeit may be up in Blackcomb glacier.........the only thing that prevents opening is the wind. There are lots of other activities also available. If youve never been its definitely worth going.
