Off to Tignes les Breviers in Feb - getting quite excited now, staying in Chalet Bonjour Bonjour. Can anybody share their experiences of Les Breviers or th Chalet?

Went there on my first ever ski trip 7 years ago. Really nice little village as long as you are confident/fast enough not to worry about having to ski over the hill to access the main ski area. Don't remember much more about it but had a great holiday!

I've heard good reports and have met the guys and gals who run Bonjour Bonjour; good people and I'm sure they'll look after you well.

When the snow's good, the Black (whose name escapes me for the moment) back to the village is one of the best in the area and the sort of run you want to go back and do again... when you've got your breath back.

Les Brevieres is a great little spot, still easy access to the Espace Killy and some great skiing in and around Les Brev itself. The Vallon De La Sache is a must when the conditions are right. Vincents is a good little bar, live sports and music. The only problem is that its a little isolated from Tignes Le Lac and the other villages. There is no transport direct to Les Brev, I think we could get a bus to Le Boisse and walk or ski back from there in the evenings that we stayed up in Tignes, but saying that, it depends what you are there for, we like a beer, but were there for the skiing, so it suited us perfectly.

Will be really interested in your report after your trip. Very nearly booked this for 1st week in Jan but changed mind at last minute. Tripadvisor highlighted one or two issues, particularly that the chalets were not actually in the village and that it was a steep walk or potentially challenging ski to nearest lift.

Let us know if its good - might still be on the list for next year, though Austria may be on the cards given the prices in France. €5 for a coffee in one restaurant in La Plagne! Typically €4 for a coke. Costs really add up when you have a few kids with you

I stayed in Tignes les Brevieres last May (yes May!) for the last week of skiing in Tignes itself. Of course, the snow in les Brevieres was long gone, but I was in my car so driving up to le Lac at the start of each day was no real issue. I would recommend the first week of May for a quiet time in Tignes. It's the last week of their season, so all the lifts are open, but there are few skiers around so you have the luxury of the well-groomed slopes to yourself, even if the lower ones get a bit soft by late afternoon. Oh, and the big car park in le Lac was free !
