People in the video 064

Yellow jacket plus bobble hat = Ian W
Green jacket = Mrs W
Pink trousers = Little W
Purple onesie = Felthorpe
Green trousers + black jacket = Felthorpe's husband
Red trousers + white jacket = Bald-Eagleman
All black = Far Queue
Guy filming = Piste Paul
No ski poles = Piste Paul's son
Yellow trousers = J2Skier friend Simon
Red jacket black trousers = Me
2 standing together at bottom on left just above where piste divides (video time 2:06) = Billip1 checked jacket + grey trousers + white helmet and Davidsa2 = all black plus grey helmet
This is one of Piste Pauls' videos of us in Sauze d'Oulx. I think it's got 13 of us in it, although only small bits of each of us, and I'm sure Brooksy is there somewhere with the large group, which would make it 14 of us.

Piste Paul's son is the one ski-ing without poles, because he's holding the camera.

If you put the sound on it's quite funny, because J2Skier friend Simon, and I, just happen to ski past the group that Piste Paul is with and he tells the others to try and catch up with us and Far Queue races off. Mind you, Simon and I weren't really racing - we just like going fast and not stopping as we go down. He's a much better skier than I am so I have to try and catch him up on the easy bits! ;)

Simon gets down to the lift first, followed by FQ, then me - but I think I slowed down to let Billip1 and Davidsa2 know which lift we're going to as you can see them waiting on the piste for us on the left at the bottom. Oh, and that very odd thing I do at the end I think was because there was a nasty hole just before the turnstile for the lift and I was avoiding it!

Other people in it are Ian and his wife and daughter, Bald-Eagleman, Felthorpe and her husband, and I'm not sure but it might be Brooksy standing on the left of their line-up at the side of the piste as I go past.

Eurostar are going to give me a free ticket to compensate me for my train back from Paris to London being about an hour late on Monday 19th January. I just hope wherever we go for the 2016 group ski holiday it's somewhere I can get to on the train!

There was a smouldering fire on a lorry in the tunnel on the Saturday, the 17th Jan, and they stopped all the trains on Saturday, which caused a lot of trouble for people. Far Queue and Brooksy were driving back on Sunday and they had to get a ferry instead of the Eurostar they were booked on and they were held up for ages. They don't know yet how much compensation they're getting.

This is what the BBC had to say about it:

This is the e-mail Eurostar sent me (minus my reference number etc. in case anyone tries to nick my free ticket!) ;)

Hello,

Thank you for your email and I am very sorry to hear that your recent Eurostar trip was delayed. It goes without saying that we aim to run all of our services on time. Punctuality is indeed among our very top priorities, and I apologise that your train did not arrive on time for this journey.

As your train was delayed by 62 minutes, it reaches the threshold for delays of between 60 and 119 minutes. Travellers who have experienced a delay of this duration have two compensation options open to them.

The first, from our own compensation policy, is a free one-way journey (or 50% reduction on a return journey) in the equivalent to your original class of service. If you would like to accept this offer, you need to simply keep your Eurostar booking reference *** and case reference ***, and call us within one year of the original date of travel.

Our contact number is 03432 186 186 or if you are calling from overseas 0044 1233 617575. We are open 08:00 - 19:00 Monday to Friday and 09:00 - 17:00 Saturday and Sunday.

The new journey can be booked in any name on any core Eurostar route (between the UK stations and Paris, Brussels, Calais, Lille or Disneyland), subject to availability. Please call in advance to avoid disappointment.

The alternative offer is a partial refund of your fare. If your ticket was a one-way, we can refund you 25% of that. If you originally purchased a return journey, the refund would be 12.5% of the total for both journeys combined. In your case, this would come to £10.75.

I don't have any problem getting fat whilst I'm ON a ski holiday, because the increase in calorific intake is made up for by the increased level of exercise.

OK I might have a small problem with my ski trousers popping undone but that's just due to the temporary bulge in the region of my stomach as a result of eating huge meals ;)

For me, the trouble starts when I come home and I've got used to eating about twice as much food as I normally do :(

AllyG that made me laugh, as I'm a he not a she :-) hopefully getting a cheaper lift pass and will be cooking/eating out mainly!

Oh, thanks for clearing that up for me! :)

Sorry about that, I get very confused about whether people are male or female on this forum ...

I hope your lift pass and your food won't cost you too many rolls of wallpaper ;)

And I hope you have a great time! :)

I may be wrong Andy, but I think Admin was talking about the rest of us when he said a week's ski-ing costs 60 rolls of wood chip wallpaper. I mean, it's only going to cost Blackpool-skier 10 rolls of that lovely wallpaper, because she's getting free transfers and free accommodation :)

Mind you, I'm not sure what she's going to do for food and her lift pass. Maybe the accommodation includes food and she's going 'ski touring' or whatever you call it when you hike up the mountain and don't bother using the ski lifts ... ;)
