I used to hate trecking round looking for the best ski hire deals, now we pre order and it was a breeze :-)
I also used to hate the coach trip to resort, but we organised our our taxi this year and we had left the air port well befor the masses and the trip back at the end of the holiday was great, we drove past every one standing on the car park in Saalbach waiting to be loaded onto the coaches, got to the air port in good time-front of the que :D Hate - back to Manchester and rubbish bagage claim-40 mins! and filthy toilets, welcome back to the UK :( |

You book the next trip even before you have left the resort and you keep walking round the house with your helmet on! :)

Having just returned from a fantastic week on fresh snow in Saalbach,I wanted to share a tale with every one. As we know fresh snow can mean difficult conditions and on one such day our group had made the decision to return to our hotel and whilst on a modest blue run of piste basher width, we had total white out conditions and one of our group miss judged the edge of the piste by no more than 3ft,he fell without injury, into deep snow of at least 4ft, ok so far you may think, but in doing so one ski came off. Could we find it? NO, even after digging for about an hour we had no luck.
Fortunatly we had insurance that covered kit, but we had to pay for the lost ski (premium grade 680Euros.ouch!)and will now claim it back. I would urge any one who is new to our great winter sport and thinks that saving a few quid on the insurance would pay for a few beers, to think twice. Whilst we were handing back our skis, an English guy had got the wrong skis from the apres bar and with no insurance, he faced a large bill for the replacements. Remeber you are responsible for the hire kit, both whilst you are skiing or at any other time during the hire period. |

Dance & Ski...! Would you choose to do both on the same holiday?

my apres ski dancing normaly involves a beer or two trashy euro pop, namely the 'ice bear' song by sound convoy, I have been known to move my feet and arms at the same time! as long as the beer does not spill :)
I say if you like dancing then do it! I will be doing my yoga as normal, but in the privacy of my bedroom! |

Andy, its a good job you didn't meet our group as we normally drag any one who is alone and up for a full days skiing, along with us!
I know what you mean about buying extra bits and pieces I can't help myself (not just the jacket, previouse post!!) If it clicks, clunks together or is shinny it has got my name on it! My wife had to stop from buying a head torch from blacks on Sunday! :-) |

I know what you mean about the price, but my last jacket lasted ten years and I was starting to look like I'd had it since the seventies.
Hopefully it will improve my skiing, well thats how i justified it to myself and it makes me look slimmer so its a win win! Only six more sleeps! |
