What can you tell me about the skiing in China? Are there a lot of good resorts and challenging mountains?

Tell you the truth.
Skiing in China is at the begining step.

All though there are many top mountains and peaks over 8000M in China.
Like K2 ,Everest and any others ,but these areas are all in SouthWest and Northwest of China could not be skied i think.
The traffic is not very good, and most of the roads are dangerous and steep, many trauks rolled from thees roads and people died from these accidents each year.
As you know ,most the top moutains locate at the Boundary between Indian ,Nepal , Pakistan and Mongolia.
Also these are some dangers like terrorist in these areas i talked .
But in Northeast of China, where there are many ski resorts i used to ski.
The Yabuli skiing resort hold the 24th Winter Universiade 2009 near the city of Harbin which is called "Eastern Paris".
There is a ski resort named Changbai Mountain in Northeast of China which its condition is little like Alps, its long skiing season could stick to the End of April.

There are also 2 famous resorts near Beijing ,where about 2-3 hours drving from Beijing.

By the way ,welcome to China if you are about to ski here and other business.

verbier_ski_bum wrote:Check German online retailers. www.snow-expert.de, www.sport-kaechele.de, www.skixpress.de or Conrad. There are of course more and they carry many brands. For those living in Europe it can be a better option because delivery is cheaper. As for brands Mammut and Arc'teryx make good clothing and many others as well.

THanks !
But i know nothing about German at all.
While i want to study German as my second Foreign language.
