Dear "footsore"
I sympathise, because I suffered for years with painful feet while skiing. The breakthrough came when I finally hit upon a pair of hired boots that were really comfortable. At about this time I was also told that my feet have a higher than average arch and therefore boots press down on the top of my foot, stopping the circulation to the toes and causing agonising pain. Once I had slackened off the clips, relieving the pressure, the pain went away and I was once again able to ski in comfort. This may not apply to your situation, but may be of use to others. |

Yes, do go to Ste Foy. We went last year and loved it. It's a very sweet little town.
However, not so good as a base for long-range skiing. We were glad we had the car and could travel to other resorts when we'd exhausted the local slopes. Have fun! PS It probably won't stay sweet and little if everyone keeps posting favourable messages!! |

Thanks to everyone for their (as always) detailed, useful and sometimes funny replies. All right, we'll give thin socks a go and report back!

Why don't people like tube socks? We wear them all the time and haven't had any problems. :?:
