Not through walls - but they do have routes to avoid traffic jams and the ability to take the back road from Albertville to Moutiers when the traffic flow lights are on. |

Hi new2ski,
Transfer via private transfer/minibus would be 2 3/4 hours. Public transport via Altibus bus service would probably need a change in Moutiers and would be longer. Hire car would be 3 hrs depending on route. Mark |

Tom,
Sorry to say it but if you try to adjust the bindings yourself and get it wrong it is your health you risk. Even if you get the correct DIN setting, all the other clearances need to be correct for the binding to release the way it is designed to and stop your leg or knee breaking. Either the shop you bought them from should set them up with your boots, or take them to a ski shop the next time you go out to the slopes. Pole length estimate is to turn a pole upside down, rest it on the floor vertically and grip under the basket. Your forearm should be horizontal if the pole is the correct size. Enjoy the new skis, Mark |

What is everyone's favourite or most effective exercise, stretch or regime for skiing?
I'll start by saying that I am running kilometre sections interspaced with repetitions of press-ups and sit ups. Recently added squats, both two legged and one legged. Apparently the one legged ones are supposed to improve balance and leg independence, as is doing the runs on grass. However I need some variation so I can keep motivated, so any recommendations welcome. Mark |

Hi Starpyro,
If they are flying to Grenoble have you considered flights to either Lyon or Chambery to give yourself more options? Good luck Mark |

Gareth,
Don't mean to teach granny to suck eggs but....something to think about... Have you considered continuing to rent and not buying? Charges for taking skis on flights seem to be more commen now.. Servicing costs on average once per week of skiing plus major repairs.. If you are not 100% sure of which ski suits you it could be an expensive mistake.. You can rent premium skis in many resorts from shops that will let you swap whenever you want - so if it dumps you change and if it ices up you change.. and no servicing costs. If you are in one resort a lot then you could get a season long deal on rentals. Last season I paid the equivalent of two weeks rent for a whole season and swapped them every few days. Mark |
