You could always put a plank (or perhaps a wardrobe door) between the mattresses. Failing that why not get in touch with the chalet/hotel directly and ask them if they can provide you with a double room with single beds.
If you want easy access to the Sella Ronda Arabba and Corvara are good places to stay, try Collett's, Ski Total or Inghams (both part of the Hotelplan group). I think most of the 'chalets' (most look like former hotels to me) are run by TOs, sometimes the get yourself there price is higher than the flight inclusive price! Bear in mind that the Dolomites are on the southern side of the main alpine ridge so the weather patterns are different from those on the northern side. This year was not a very good snow year. |

As well as all the other rubbish:
It has been estimated that in a big resort as many as 30,000 cigarette butts are dropped under each chair lift during a ski season. Each one contains enough nicotine etc. to contaminate about 500 litres of water. |

I'd like to be there when you explain all that to Silvan Zurbriggen!
I suspect Rainmaker came across this http://quantum.u-aizu.ac.jp/Magazine/Slalom_en.htm |

There is no need to slacken the bindings of for storage. Tyrolia (the largest manufacturer) recommends that you close the bindings for long term storage:
The best sources of information on binding settings etc. are the manufacturer's technical manuals, see pages 33-37 http://store.ornellosport.com/ManualeAttacchiRossi1011.pdf AllyG, assuming you classify yourself as a level 2 skier, a DIN setting of 7 would indicate that you weigh 79-94kg, are between 5' 11" and 6' 4" tall and ski in a boot with a sole length of 311-330mm. If that's the case I wouldn't want to meet you on a dark night! |

Zermatt and Cervinia also run first tracks trips including breakfast, the punters simply go up in the cable car with the staff. For CHF 100 (including a bottle of champagne) you can go up to Trockener Steg in the VIP gondola http://www.zermatt.ch/en/page.cfm/57379
It's also possible to spend the night up on the mountain. I have had some really good nights in the guides hut at Testa Grigia http://www.rifugioguidedelcervino.com/index.asp and some even better ones in the Rifugio Guglielmina (sadly it burnt down in December) above Alagna, didn't get much sleep though. |

To check your ankle flexion sit in a chair with your legs parallel to the floor and see how far you can lift your feet up whilst keeping your heels on the floor.
If you're bad ankle has significantly less dorsiflexion than the other this may be where the problem lies. |
