According to Viamichelin.co.uk the distance from Innsbruck airport (Flughafen) to Folgarida is 132 miles, with 96 miles of that on motorways, and it would take just under 3 hours to drive it.

3 valleys - which resort to choose?

We've stayed in Val Thorens, Meribel, and Courchevel 1550, and I much prefer Courchevel 1550.

If you know where you're going you can get about the 3 valleys pretty fast, because the lifts are so efficient.

When I wasn't very good - just able to ski down an easy red - our instructor took us out for the day. We started in Val Thorens and managed to ski across to Courchevel and Meribel and back well before the end of the day's lesson. Plus, the instructor stopped in a lovely restaurant for at least an hour at lunchtime, and took us up the top of Mont Vallon just because the red run down was one of his favourite runs in the 3 valleys!

I like going by train as well, BB.
In fact, I was going to go to Folgarida on the train, but the BA flight out on Saturday (I'm staying in a hotel in Trento on Saturday night) was so cheap and such an easy time of day that I decided to fly instead.

As I said, I think the easiest routes would be either fly to Verona and take the private taxi to the hotel, or fly to Milan Bergamo and take the shuttle bus to Folgarida.

Here's the link to our group holiday in Folgarida/Madonna di Campiglio thread, where you should be able to find some useful information about the ski area.

One tip I would offer, is to take some Compeed blister plasters with you so that if your hire boots rub on the first day, you can sort out potential blisters straightaway!

That's a good point Jastem :)
And if your hire boots do hurt, you can take them back to the shop and change them for some that fit better (free of charge).
As far as I'm concerned, the only reason for having graphics/colours on skis is so that I can tell which skis are mine! :)

Other than that - it's a total waste of money.

If you can go from Stansted, then RyanAir do several flights to Milan Bergamo. And the public shuttle bus goes from Bergamo to Folgarida.
