 I didn't think anyone else in the world had a mum like mine!

Don't get too annoyed with you mum girls..........enjoy her while she's around. :(

acarr wrote:My OH took up skiing at 57. Last year we met a woman who had decided to learn when she turned 70. She was having private lessons with an instructor and he seemed to be incredibly patient and kind. I think she got on fine. You're never too old to try something new (in fact it's good for the brain to take on new challenges).

That's fantastic. My OH just cannot be persuaded of how fantastic skiing is. He has never been to europe, only one day in Glencoe. I don't think I will ever get him to go now. I would love to get him there, but me thinks it will never happen.

steve3502 wrote:Guys, many thanks for the quick replies. Half day lessons sounds a good idea for her. I will try and persuade her to give it a go.

Hopefully she will enjoy it and be skiing with me by the end of the week.

Anyone recommend any good schools or hire places for her to use?

Also having never been to Chamonix can anyone recommend things for her to do if she doesn't take to skiing?

One advantage for her is she gets a discounted lift pass!

Thanks

Never been to Chamonix, so no can help with ski school etc. But she can always come up the mountain and meet you for lunch and enjoy a few vin chaud with a good book...........sounds great!!!
