Sm4sh,
If you could afford about £700 each, including flights, transfers, half-board, 6 days lift pass and ski hire, you could come with us to Folgarida, in Italy, on 2nd February. If you scroll down you can see my costings, which will vary according to which flights and transfers you choose: http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/416/12565.page |

You're quite right, I think he did say that. But he didn't say how much he was allowing for lift passes plus ski and boot hire. In my experience, unless he got one of those 2 for 1 lift pass deals or something, he could be looking at £200 for 6 day lift passes and £100 for ski and boot hire. |

Don't forget that booking with Mountain Sun means you won't be protected by ATOL or ABTA if they go bust, so you need to check if your travel insurance covers you for 'end supplier failure'! I have annual ski travel insurance from PJ Hayman, bought through the Ski Club of GB, which does cover me for this, so I can book small independant hotels etc. without this particular worry, except that I'm only insured for the various constituent parts of the holiday that go bust, not the entire holiday, so that if the chalet or hotel go bust I still have my flights and then I have to find another chalet/hotel. |

I don't know about flights from northern airports, but if you can manage to make your way south, the London airports, like Heathrow and Gatwick, have plenty of flights to Geneva and back at various times all day :) |

I think Sm4sh said at the beginning that money was the problem. If you can find him 6 days of ski-ing for just over £400 including flights, half-board accommodation, transfers, ski passes, and ski and boot hire then I'm sure he'd jump at it :) How about - we all play who can find the cheapest ski holiday for him in a decent resort? |

This is the 2013 ski holiday thread about our chalet in Tignes les Brevieres etc. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can see where the Mountain Sun chalet is, in Tignes Les Boisses, which is sort of Tignes 1800, just above Les Brevieres. It's very easy to get from there to the rest of the ski area. http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/12455.page |

That's not really a problem as long as you can take an extra day off work, because you could have a look around Geneva whilst you were waiting for the evening chalet transfer. However, what would be more of a problem would be if you couldn't get a late evening flight back, after ski-ing, because you'd have to stay in a hotel in Geneva overnight (we did this once) and it costs about £80 for a double room. |

You could do 3 nights for just over £400 including everything, depending on how much you had to pay for flights, with the people I'm staying with in a few days. Their price list says 3 nights in their chalet les Melezes in Tignes les Boisses from Monday 6th January is £289. This includes 3 days lift pass and transfers from Geneva and half-board. Ski hire is extra at around 50 euros for skis and boots for 3 days and they hire them in the chalet. You get 3 full days ski-ing. All you have to pay extra is flights to and from Geneva (and travel insurance) and you should be able to get those for £100 return per person. http://mountainsunltd.com/short_breaks/view/tignes-chalet-hotel-les-melezes |
