The Cervinia/Valtournenche lift pass gives access to all the lifts on the Italian side below Testa Grigia and the Theodul Pass http://www.cervinia.it/documents/SKIRAMA_NEW_2014_PDF?ixDownload=true
If you want to ski on the Swiss side you will have to buy either an international pass that will give you access to the Swiss side for the whole week or a supplementary day pass http://www.cervinia.it/pages/Giornalieri_plurigiornalieri_i_en/465 |

I haven't used them, but I have heard of them. It's a brand belonging to the Sundio Group http://www.sundiogroup.com/ a Dutch holiday company domiciled in Switzerland. They say they are one of the biggest tour operators in Europe with around 800.000 customers and a turnover of £400 million, operating in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands. They employ around 200 people at the head office in Rotterdam and 350 resort reps. I haven't been able to find anything bad about them. They get mostly positive ratings on this German website http://www.trustpilot.de/review/sunweb.de Their prices are very competitive and lift passes are included.
There seems to be a trend towards lift pass included skiing holidays. Last October a French company Tous Au Ski http://www.tousauski.fr/ started selling lift pass included holidays, they claim that lift pass included is 20% cheaper than lift pass separate. According to an article I read in a travel industry trade magazine they are associated with Skifun Travel http://www.skifun.eu/ a Slovenian company. In December the Compagnie des Alpes, the operator of most of the big French ski resorts announced that it had teamed up with Karavel-Promovacances a French travel company and they were also going to offer lift pass included holidays under the brand Skigloo http://www.skigloo.com/ |

Algana is a very small place; it has about 400 inhabitants so choice is limited. Try Sport Haus http://www.sporthaus.it/index.php?lang=enit's it's about 50 metres from the lift.

Zermatt is the place to go at that time. This season there is more snow on the southern side of the main alpine ridge than to the north of it. Zermatt and other places near to it get more snow whereas places further north get the Foehn. I wouldn't go to Wengen.
http://www.slf.ch/schneeinfo/schneekarten/hsm/index_EN This winter has been very warm so far, January was the 5th warmest since records began 150 years ago. The long range weather guess is for it to get very warm in March so pick somewhere high just to be on the safe side. |

It will be much cheaper to buy in Lyon. Au Vieux Campeur http://www.auvieuxcampeur.fr/?acc=1 has 10 shops there. Decathlon also has a store there http://www.decathlon.fr/fr/store?store_id=PS_190&rememberMe=off Be careful the sales are on so you might end up buying more than you need :D.

Luca Zaia, the President of the Veneto region has declared a state of emergency. There have been lots if avalanches, one has virtually destroyed a ski lift on the Marmolada. Some places are still cut off, lots of people are without electricity and roofs have collapsed under the weight of snow. Temperatures have risen considerably since the weekend, so major flooding is expected.
The depth of snow on the Col dei Baldi (1900m) between Zoldo and Alleghe has reached 361 cm http://www.scribd.com/doc/204508239/La-neve-al-suolo-4-febbraio Lots more information and some very spectacular photos in the local paper http://corrierealpi.gelocal.it/ |

I thought I'd mention it because a knock-kneed stance stresses the knee. The ligaments and tendons are stretched on the insides and pinched on the outsides. This is one of the reasons why women suffer more knee injuries than men. A woman's pelvis is wider, which means the femur approaches the knee at a wider angle.
One of the local women I know has severely injured one of her knees 3 times and another friend (a mountain guide) ruptured her ACL and MCL two weeks ago. I don't think the physio would have spotted it, unless you were wearing ski boots. It could be the brace, but as I've never had to use one I don't know what effect they have. It might be worth asking your instructor as she has a much better view. Most people have some degree of misalignment. My right leg is a bit bent, and because I skied on it 'as is' for 20 odd years I now have some knee damage. |

They would benefit from an edge and wax but, if the edges aren't rusty you should be OK. If they don't run or grip as well as you'd like you can get them serviced there. Hervis charges €20 for a base / edge grind and wax.
Hiring skis in St Anton is supposed to be very expensive. Hervis will probably be the cheapest in St Anton Dorf, Mietski in Pettneu a 5 min bus ride away will be cheaper still. |
